Another
BAS Qualified Judge

2007
had an excellent start with Ian qualifying as a British Alpaca
Society Judge. This has been the result of much hard work
and dedication, culminating with a gruelling examination by
International Judge Amanda Vandenbosch. Ian had his first
judging appointment at the East of England Show in June - he had
140 alpacas to sort out and we were pleased to see him return to
Devon without any rotten eggs on his face! A job well done -
and he's off judging in France in 2008, plus the Three Counties
and South of England Shows in the UK.
The
Alpaca Industry in the UK
The industry has
grown steadily since the first major importation of alpacas in
1996, and the UK herd currently stands in excess of 14,000
animals. A significant sign of the increasing popularity
of alpaca farming is reflected in the fact that more and more
shows are now incorporating alpaca show classes.
We look forward
to seeing you either at Shows or Lower Langaton.
